UW College Leadership and Mentorship
The center’s leadership program is designed to help students hone their leadership skills.
Join our familia during your undergraduate and graduate studies at UW to build your administrative, event planning, and leadership skills. We also provide opportunities to expand your professional network, build community, and provide service learning and community engagement to Latine/x students across Wyoming. College leaders, mentors, and workshop facilitators receive training to work with youth at the start of the Fall semester. There are other opportunities throughout the year to build and enhance your leadership skills. College students receive a Leadership Certificate upon graduation signed by the UW President, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, and Executive Director of WLYC.

- Join our WLYC team and assist with our annual Wyoming Latina youth conference by leading and guiding a group of conference youth participants.
- Travel with WLYC to different Wyoming public schools throughout the year to work with youth in their schools and/or hometowns.
- Opporutnity to meet new people.
- Leadership training available.

Workshop LeaderItem Link List Item 2
- Design and facilitate your own workshop for the WLYC conference. Workshop leaders create hands-on activities based on the conference themes. They include activities and incorporate grade level material for all 5th-12th grade participants.

Internship or Work Study at WLYC.Item Link List Item 3
Interns and work-studies assist in the everyday decision-making process of running the center and are heavily involved with on-the-job education. They learn invaluable skills and are actively engaged in management, communication, working collaboratively, problem-solving, and most importantly, the willingness to learn about leadership in an educational setting.Write a description for this list item and include information that will interest site visitors. For example, you may want to describe a team member's experience, what makes a product special, or a unique service that you offer.
- Internship: Enroll in a course for 3-12 credit hours (can work 10-25 hours per week) under the School of Culture, Gender, and Social Justices and College of Arts and Sciences.
- Work study: Federal Work-Study is a need-based program that provides employment opportunities to eligible students to help meet the cost of their college education. WLYC work-study students work up 10 hours weekly.
